Do I need a code for free standard shipping at Kohl's? No. It is set by the purchase total, and Kohl's shipping chart states that no promo codes are involved. That total is counted on merchandise after transaction discounts and special promotions, so the amount that has to clear the line is the one left once your coupons come off.

Can Kohl's Cash earned at one event be saved for a later holiday order? Only if that order falls inside its redemption period. Kohl's Cash earned at an event can be spent only within the redeem dates of the promotion that issued it, never before or after, and those dates follow Central Time. Do gift cards bought as holiday presents earn Kohl's Cash or Rewards, or take a coupon? No on all three counts. A balance that never reaches a full increment expires after a year. Members who add a birthday to the account also get a birthday gift, provided a purchase was made before the birthday month, and cardholders who spend $600 with the Kohl's Card unlock, for a year, the status Kohl's calls MVC, which it lists as including monthly free shipping events.

In both years the deals started earlier still, with a three-day Black Friday Early Access event: November 8 to 10, 2024, and November 7 to 9, 2025.

Black Friday doorbusters went live on Kohls.com at 12:01 a.m. Central Time on Thanksgiving Day in both 2024 and 2025, while Kohl's stores stayed closed that day and opened their doorbusters on Black Friday morning. The coupon then rose to 20% off qualifying purchases for the Cyber Weekend of November 30 to December 2, 2024, and for the Cyber Days of November 30 and December 1, 2025, still paired with $15 in Kohl's Cash for every $50 spent.

Free shipping thresholds and free store pickup

Kohl's does not put a code on free standard shipping. The shipping chart on Kohls.com ties it to the purchase total and adds, in the retailer's own words, no exclusions and no promo codes. Under that total the chart shows a flat standard fee, with faster services priced separately and a delivery time quoted for each speed. The threshold, the fee and the timing all live on that chart and can be revised, so open the current version at Kohl's rather than relying on a number repeated elsewhere.

Kohl's own free alternative is store pickup. When an item is available at a store near you, the site offers fast and free pickup instead of delivery, which sidesteps the threshold question entirely for anyone with a Kohl's nearby.

Two limits are worth knowing in advance. Oversized or heavy items can carry a surcharge on top of standard shipping, and Kohl's says the amount appears on the item's own listing. Shipping restrictions also mean that not every item can ship by the faster services, or to Alaska, Hawaii or military addresses, as the same chart notes. Returns, price adjustments and your Kohl's Cash

Returning something you bought during an earn window has consequences for the coupon it generated. Kohl's states that if merchandise which earned a Kohl's Cash coupon is returned or price adjusted, the value of that coupon is reduced to reflect the value that was never really earned. If you had already spent it, the refund comes back in your original form of payment, minus the amount of Kohl's Cash you used.

The reverse case is friendlier. When you return merchandise that was paid for with Kohl's Cash, Kohl's says the value comes back to you as Return Kohl's Cash, valid for 30 days from the date of the return, so it is not lost but it is on a clock.

On price adjustments and price matching, the coupon terms settle one point and leave the rest to customer service. Kohl's is explicit that coupons cannot be used for or on price adjustments, so a code will never apply retroactively to an order you already placed.
