What kind of discounts does AliExpress offer?

We looked at 372 AliExpress promotions from the past 24 months to show you how the savings are actually built.

    15%85%
Up to X is a ceiling: the maximum saving you could reach on a qualifying selection, not a cut applied to every item in your cart. Defined discount is a fixed deal you can count on — for example $10 off your order or 20% off a specific product or service, with the amount known up front.
At AliExpress, roughly 15% of savings are up to ceilings; the other 85% are fixed, defined offers.

An up to claim marks the most you might save, so confirm the terms of the code before you assume the full amount.

Two sellers can list the same phone case at the same price here and still leave you paying different amounts at the end, because the discount attached to one of them was issued by the store rather than by the platform. That difference is the whole game here: on a marketplace this size a price cut can come from AliExpress itself, from the individual seller, or from coins you collected in the app, and each one carries its own rule about when it applies. Take an offer from the list above, and if it comes with a code, look for the Enter button while you are placing the order and type it in there. If it comes without one, nothing needs typing at all: the platform picks the largest discount it can find on its own, and you can swap it for a different one on the payment page.

Guide text reviewed in August 2026 against AliExpress help center articles and the published coupon terms. Where the live listings at the top disagree with this text, the listings are right: they rebuild themselves, this paragraph does not.

AliExpress promo codes in August 2026: what the month actually looks like

Checked on August 13, 2026. What follows is a picture of the moment, so read it alongside the live listings rather than instead of them: each one rebuilds itself and carries the conditions and the timing it was given. Everything below this block stays the same between refreshes.

The shape of the month is worth saying out loud, because it changes what you should be looking for. Almost every offer that needs a typed code is written for someone opening an account, and the amounts sit low, in the range of a few dollars off a modest basket. The large numbers you can see on the page, the ones reading as most of the price gone, are category sales where the reduction is already on the listing and nothing is typed at all. So if you are new here the codes are the story, and if you are not, the story is elsewhere on this page.

Verified offers on this page in August, last checked on the thirteenth:

    • Up to 95% — category sale on consumer electronics — no code involved, the cut is already applied to the listing — the card above lists an end date in December
    • $12 off — exclusive coupon for new shoppers — a first order above a set amount, phones excluded — the card above lists an end date at the start of October
    • $5 off $20 — new-shopper coupon — one of the lowest baskets any code on this page asks for — the card above lists an end date at the start of October
    • Up to 70% — Welcome Deal pricing — eligible products on a first order, nothing to type — the card above lists an end date in mid-September
    • Up to 70% — Local Shipping sale — items dispatched from a warehouse close to you — the card above lists an end date in early September
    • Up to 65% — category sale on occasion dresses — no code needed — the card above carries the nearest end date of the set, in the last week of August

The cards are the reference rather than this list, and on a marketplace that matters more than it would elsewhere. An offer written by a single seller only works inside that seller's store, and an offer written by the platform can still exclude a category. The card tells you which of the two you are holding.

The mistake to avoid this month: stacking one saving on top of another and then wondering why the code stopped being accepted. Coupon terms set a minimum spend, and that minimum is measured on what you would actually pay after the other reductions have come off. Push the total low enough with a sale item and the code you were saving for the same basket quietly stops qualifying.

Three questions worth answering before you order

Is there anything here for me if I have ordered before? Not much in the coded column this month, and it is fairer to say so. Five of the six codes currently listed are written for new accounts. What is open to you is the category sales, the promotions the individual seller runs on the product page, and whatever you have already collected in your own coupon list.

Do I need a code to get the biggest reductions? No. The deepest cuts on this page carry no code at all, because they are sale prices rather than discounts. A code is worth hunting for when the item is not already reduced.

Is anything about to run out? A handful of the category sales listed above end in the last days of August, and the fashion ones are the earliest of the set. The coupons for new accounts run considerably longer, into the first days of October, so there is no reason to rush those.

Where the code goes while you are placing the order

Two different things happen at checkout, and confusing them is the reason people think their discount vanished.

Coupons you have already collected are applied for you. AliExpress states that its system applies the largest discount available while you are placing the order, and that you can check which coupon was chosen and pick a different one instead. If you would rather not use the one the system selected, it can be removed or changed on the payment page. Nothing is typed and nothing is pasted.

A code is the other case. When an offer gives you an alphanumeric code, you use the Enter button while placing the order and fill in the code there. That is the wording AliExpress uses in its own help article, and it matters because the button does not carry the word most shopping sites put there.

Entering an AliExpress code while placing an order

Before you confirm, read the order summary rather than the basket. The discount, the shipping charge and any import handling all land there, and on a cross-border marketplace the difference between the two screens can be the whole reason one seller turns out cheaper than another.

When the discount refuses to apply

AliExpress publishes its own list of reasons, and it is shorter and more useful than the usual advice about typing errors.

    • It is already spent or out of date. Your collected coupons live under Account and then My Coupons, and each one shows as unused, used or expired along with the spend it requires. If it reads used or expired, that is the end of it.
    • The basket has not reached the minimum. The threshold is measured on the order value excluding tax and shipping, which is the detail that catches most people out. AliExpress gives the example of a coupon written for orders over a hundred dollars against a basket worth eighty.
    • It ran out. Codes attached to a campaign are limited in number and handed out first come, first served, so an offer that worked yesterday can be genuinely gone rather than broken.
    • It belongs somewhere else. Some coupons are valid only in the app or only on the website. A seller coupon works only on items from that same seller, and a select coupon only inside the stores it was written for.

There is one more reason, and it is the least obvious of them. A minimum spend is checked against what you would pay after every other reduction has been taken off. If another discount brings the amount payable below the figure the code requires, the code stops being usable even though the items in your basket never changed. That is written into the published coupon terms, not deduced.

One coupon code per order, and what that rules out

The published terms are direct about this. A promo code cannot be combined with another one, only a single promo code applies to an order, and the same terms state it cannot be combined with other coupons, promotional offers, discounts or rebates. The general rule for every kind of coupon reads the same way unless a particular campaign says otherwise. Separately, only one platform coupon, store coupon or store code can be used on the same order.

Coins are the documented exception. AliExpress says its coins can be combined with other kinds of discounts, including codes. Everything else should be treated as one saving per order until the offer itself tells you otherwise.

Two further limits matter once the basket gets big. A coupon has to be used whole: if its value is larger than your order, the remainder is not refunded and does not carry over. And platform coupons do not apply to virtual purchases such as software licenses, mobile top-ups or warranty and installation services.

In practice this makes the choice simple. When you are holding more than one option, work out which produces the lower total on the basket you actually have, then use that one and stop.

Coupon Center, store promotions and where the discounts come from

AliExpress lists the routes itself, and there are more of them than most shoppers use.

    • The Coupon Center. The platform describes it as the place to visit for daily discounts, and it is where offers are collected rather than typed. Anything you pick up there lands in your own coupon list and waits to be applied.
    • Store promotions. Open a product page and look at the store promotion section. That is the seller's own offer on their own catalog, and it is invisible from anywhere else on the site.
    • The membership program. AliExpress runs a tiered program that releases coupons as you move up it. Terms and availability are not published in detail, so treat it as something to check on your account rather than a promise.
    • Large sale events. During its big sales the platform runs activities and games that award points and coins, and those convert into coupons.
    • Its own channels. Sale pages on the site and in the app, and the official social accounts, are where campaigns are announced. Promotional emails can also be switched on from your account settings, though nothing official ties them to a welcome offer.
AliExpress SuperDeals and daily discount sections

There is also an invitation code, which is the platform's name for what most sites call bringing a friend. It is a code belonging to someone who has already ordered, and it can only be redeemed by a newly registered account that has never placed an order. Knowing the official name for it saves a lot of fruitless searching.

Away from codes entirely, the storefront keeps three permanent bargain sections running, gathered under SuperDeals, Dollar Express and the Welcome Deal. They rotate constantly, so they are worth a look before you go hunting for something to type.

Five ways to pay less, compared

Different savings behave differently on this marketplace. This is the short version of which is which.

Route Do you type anything? Who it is for Worth knowing
Platform code Yes, using the Enter button Mostly new accounts this month One per order, and it does not combine with other offers
Collected coupon No, applied automatically Anyone with coupons in their account The system picks the largest; you can change it on the payment page
Seller promotion No Anyone buying from that store Only valid on that seller's items
Category sale No Everyone This is where the largest reductions on the page sit
Coins No, chosen at checkout App users who collect them The one saving the platform says can be combined with others

You can also let the saving accumulate outside the order itself. Discoup Rewards points are credited on purchases made through this page while you are signed in, they cost nothing to join, and they build up across every store on the site rather than only this one. Points are allocated and redeemed according to the program terms shown with the button above.

First order: what the Welcome Deal is and is not

The storefront runs a permanent section for new shoppers, presented as a welcome deal and a new shopper special, with individual items marked as being for new shoppers only. It is pricing rather than a code: the reduction is on the listing, and you qualify by not having ordered before.

Alongside it sit the coupons written for first orders, and this month those are the majority of the coded offers on this page. They work the way every other coupon does, which means a minimum spend measured before tax and shipping, and a set of excluded categories that the card will name.

One thing to plan for rather than discover: an account and an order are not the same milestone. If you register now and buy later, the offers waiting for you will be whichever ones are running then, not the ones you saw on the day you signed up.

If you have ordered here before

This is the question the page gets asked most often by people who are not new, and it deserves a straight answer rather than an encouraging one. The coded offers on a marketplace of this kind lean heavily towards first orders, and pretending otherwise wastes your time. What follows is what is genuinely open to an existing account.

    • Your own coupon list first. Account and then My Coupons shows everything you have collected, what it is worth, what it still requires and what has expired. People routinely have something sitting there they have forgotten about.
    • The seller, not the platform. Store coupons and store codes are issued by individual shops. If you buy repeatedly from the same seller, that store page is a better place to look than any general search.
    • Coins. They accumulate through daily activity in the app and convert into coupons, and they are the one saving officially described as combinable with others.
    • Membership tiers. The program releases coupons as your level rises, which is the closest thing here to a reward for coming back.
    • Events rather than codes. The large sales are open to everyone, and for an existing account they tend to be worth more than anything with a code attached.

There is also the standing option of not chasing a code at all. Points on this page accrue on every qualifying purchase whether or not the order carried a discount, which for a returning shopper is often the more reliable of the two.

Coins, and why the app is where they are collected

Coins are one of the saving types listed in the platform's own coupon terms, and they behave in two ways. You can spend them for a reduction on a participating item, once per item in a given store, or exchange them for coupons instead.

Where you collect them has changed. AliExpress states that following a system upgrade the daily check-in is now available only in the app, and that existing balances were not affected by the move. If you have been checking in on the website and wondering why the option went missing, that is the reason.

Collecting coins and app-only offers on AliExpress

The app matters for a second reason. Some coupons are written to work only in the app or only on the website, so an offer that refuses to apply in a browser is not necessarily broken. Coins carry their own validity terms, which are shown with the balance in your account, so check there rather than assuming they will keep indefinitely.

Free shipping, and why there is no code for it

This is one of the most searched things about the store and one of the most misleading. There is no code that turns shipping free. Delivery costs are set by the seller and by where the item ships from, and no coupon on this page changes that line of the order.

Free delivery does exist, but it arrives from the listing rather than from anything typed. The storefront currently advertises free shipping on Choice orders, and runs a local shipping section for items dispatched from a warehouse in the country with a delivery window of a few days. Both are properties of the product you chose, which is why two sellers offering the same item can quote you different totals.

The practical move is to compare the delivered cost rather than the headline price. Open the order summary before you confirm, and let the shipping line rather than the discount decide which listing you buy from. These arrangements are promotional and can change, so the storefront at the time you order is the reference.

Returns, and what happens to the coupon you used

Free returns are a program rather than a blanket policy. It applies to products carrying the program icon, and for those the seller guarantees a return without needing a reason. AliExpress states that the window is up to ninety days from when the order was placed, or seven, fifteen or thirty days from delivery, depending on where the item shipped from and which category it belongs to. Check the label on the listing before you buy, because the item next to it may not carry the same terms.

On cost, the platform says the first return on each order is free, up to five times a month, and that shipping may be charged on later returns from the same order. Where the fault lies decides the rest: for a quality problem or an item that does not match its description AliExpress says it covers the return shipping, while a return for a change of mind usually has the cost taken out of the refund. Returns are opened as a dispute on the order page rather than by messaging the shop, and the item has to come back in the condition the rules describe.

The part almost nobody explains is what happens to your discount. The published coupon terms are explicit: a refund will not exceed what you actually paid in cash, and the example given is a five dollar coupon used on a fifteen dollar order, where the refund cannot go above ten. No replacement coupon is issued, and the value of the one you used is treated as spent. The help center says the same thing from the other direction, that cash refunds cover only the portion paid in real currency and anything paid with points, rewards or coupons comes back in that same form.

Refund timing is not published as a fixed number, so the refund page of your own order is the only reliable place to see where yours has got to.

    The sales worth waiting for

AliExpress names two events in its own guidance on where discounts come from: the Anniversary Sale, and the eleventh of November. Those are the moments when the catalog moves rather than a category, and when the games and activities that hand out points and coins are running.

    AliExpress seasonal sale events

The platform also takes part in the late-year shopping weekends, and runs shorter campaigns through the year. Those come and go without a fixed calendar, so the cards above will answer what is running today faster than any calendar could. During a large event the useful habit is to collect coupons early, since the campaign ones are limited in number and handed out in order of arrival.

Sales tax exemption for eligible US buyers

This one is specific to the United States and is easily the largest saving on the page for the people it applies to, because it is not a discount at all. AliExpress runs a sales tax exemption program that lets a buyer identify themselves as tax exempt. Once the documentation has been reviewed and accepted, eligible future purchases are not charged sales tax at checkout.

The categories the platform lists include resale, manufacturing, agriculture, hospitals and healthcare providers, educational institutions and libraries, non-profit and charitable organizations, government bodies, and disabled veterans, among others. Enrollment sits under My AliExpress, then My account, then Tax Information, where the relevant exemption documentation is submitted.

If you buy for an organization that qualifies, this is worth setting up once. It applies to every eligible order afterward, which no coupon on this page does.

Questions people ask about AliExpress codes

Does AliExpress have a student discount?

Not as an official program. The help center article that lists every documented way of getting a discount names the Coupon Center, seller promotions, the membership tiers, the large sale events and the platform's own channels, and none of them is student specific. If you are a student, the routes open to you are the same ones open to everyone, and the welcome pricing for a first order is usually the largest of them.

Can I use two codes on the same order?

No. The published coupon terms state that a promo code cannot be combined with another and that only one applies per order, and the same holds for a platform coupon, a store coupon or a store code. Coins are the exception the platform names, since it says they can be combined with other kinds of discounts.

What happens to my coupon if I return the item?

You get back what you paid in cash and no more. The coupon terms give the example of a five dollar coupon used on a fifteen dollar order, where the refund cannot exceed ten. The coupon is not reissued and its value is treated as used, so a return costs you the discount as well as the item.

Why did my code stop working after I added another offer?

Because a minimum spend is measured on what you would actually pay. The terms say that if other coupons, rebates or discounts bring the amount payable below the figure the code requires, the code can no longer be used. The basket looks unchanged, which is what makes it confusing.

Is the minimum spend calculated before or after shipping?

Before. AliExpress states that the total order value used for the threshold excludes tax and shipping fees, and illustrates it with a coupon written for orders over a hundred dollars against a basket of eighty. Adding shipping will not push you over the line.

Where do I see the coupons I have already collected?

Under Account and then My Coupons. Each one shows as unused, used or expired, together with the spend it requires. If a coupon is not appearing at checkout, that page usually explains why before customer service needs to.

Are some offers only available in the app?

Yes. The platform says some coupons are valid only in the app or only on the website, and the daily coin check-in moved to the app after a system upgrade. If something refuses to apply in a browser, trying the same order in the app is a reasonable next step.

Do I earn Discoup points when I buy from AliExpress?

Yes, this store takes part in Discoup Rewards. Sign in before you follow an offer from this page and points are credited on qualifying purchases, alongside whatever discount the order already carried. Joining costs nothing, and allocation and redemption follow the program terms shown with the button above.
