How to Apply a Discount Code at Pro:Direct Sport

Applying a Pro:Direct Sport discount code takes less than a minute, and the steps are the same on the website and in the app. Copy a code from the list above, add your items to the basket, then open your cart or go to checkout. Enter the code in the Discount code field (at checkout it may appear as Discount code or Gift Card) and select Apply. If the code is valid, the reduction shows in the order summary straight away, before you enter any payment details. If the total hasn't changed, it's worth stopping there and checking why before you pay.

When a voucher code is rejected, the cause is usually one of three things. First, a stray space: copying and pasting often adds an invisible space at the end of the code, so delete it and try again. Second, eligibility: Pro:Direct Sport's discount terms state that codes apply to full-price items only, so a basket made up entirely of sale products won't qualify. Third, fulfilment: some sizes are shipped directly by brand partners, and those items are excluded from Pro:Direct promotions. If a code works on a pair of boots in size 9 but not in size 10, the size 10 is most likely coming from a partner, and the product page shows a message above the Add to Cart button when this is the case. Codes are valid online only and can't be added once an order has been placed.

Free Pro Member and Elite Membership Benefits

Once you know how codes work, the next step is making sure you're not missing offers reserved for registered customers. Downloading the Pro:Direct Sport app and creating an account makes you a Pro Member at no cost. Membership gives you access to member-only product launches, restock alerts, competitions and app-exclusive sales and promo codes released at different points in the year. At the time of writing, the app is promoting a 10% code on full-price items. The full-price rule still applies, so it won't reduce something that's already in the sale. Birthday offers have also featured among member perks, which is why it makes sense to add your date of birth to your profile when you register.

Pro:Direct Sport has also offered a paid upgrade, the Elite Membership, last advertised at £14.95 a year with a larger welcome discount, a birthday reward and unlimited next-day delivery. Whether it pays off depends on how you shop. If you regularly choose next-day delivery, the annual fee can be recovered within a few orders; if you buy a couple of times a year with standard delivery, the free tier is usually enough. Check in the app whether the upgrade is currently available and what it includes before committing.

Student Discount, Football Club Membership and Newsletter Offers

Outside the codes listed here, there are three further routes to a lower price, and each suits a different type of shopper. Students can usually unlock a student discount by verifying their status with UNiDAYS using a university email address or student ID. The platform then issues a code to enter at checkout. Because only one discount can be used per order, compare it with the codes above and pick the bigger saving.

If you play football, the Pro:Direct Football Club (PD:FC) is free to join. New members receive a discount code by email, and the club also offers free UK next-day delivery on orders over £100, free UK returns and a monthly member perk, such as a gift with purchase or a discount on selected brands. The free next-day delivery excludes sale items and certain products fulfilled directly by Nike and adidas, so only eligible full-price items count towards the £100. Buying boots, shin pads and a training top together at full price makes the threshold much easier to reach in one order than spreading the same items across several smaller ones.

The newsletter, available from the site footer, is the least effort of all: subscribers receive promotional codes and advance notice of sales, which is useful if you're waiting for a specific product to drop in price.

Outlet, Sales and Warehouse Clearance: Saving Without Codes

If your basket keeps rejecting codes, you may simply be shopping reduced items, and that's exactly where the Outlet and warehouse clearance pages come in. They carry previous-season boots, trainers, kits and equipment across football, running, rugby, basketball, tennis, padel and cricket, with the lower price already shown on the product page and no code needed. Reductions vary by product and are often largest on older colourways and less common sizes.

Since discount codes only apply to full-price products, the outlet and codes work as alternatives rather than something you can add together. The quickest way to decide is to compare the sale price with the full price minus the best code available, then go with the lower figure. Popular sizes in clearance tend to sell through quickly, so if yours is available at a price you're comfortable with, holding out for a deeper reduction carries a real risk of missing it. Larger sale events generally line up with the end of each season and the late-November promotional period.

Payment Options and Delivery Methods

Pro:Direct Sport accepts the main debit and credit cards, including Visa, Mastercard and American Express, plus PayPal, Shop Pay and Klarna, with digital wallets such as Apple Pay and Google Pay offered at checkout. Klarna comes in two formats. Pay in 3 splits the cost into three interest-free instalments, the first taken when the order is confirmed and the others 30 and 60 days later. Pay in 30 Days lets you receive your order before paying, which is practical for boots you want to try on indoors before deciding. Klarna is a credit product subject to status and late fees, so read its terms before choosing it. Your choice of payment method has no effect on whether a discount code applies.

Delivery charges are based on the weight and size of your items. In Great Britain, prices start from £2.99 for collection from a pickup point and £4.99 for home delivery, with standard delivery generally taking 2 to 5 days. Next-day delivery is available if you order before 8pm on weekdays or 5pm at weekends, although not to the Highlands and Islands or the Channel Islands. Choosing a pickup point is the easiest way to trim the delivery cost when you don't need your order the next day. Keep in mind that, under the discount terms, using a code means you won't qualify for a free-delivery-over-a-threshold offer at the same time, so when both are running, compare the two totals before paying. Personalised items need a few extra days before dispatch.

Returns, Customer Service and Gift Cards

Returns are started from the My Orders section of your account within 28 days of delivery. You can choose one of the recommended carriers, which come with discounted return rates and a wide choice of drop-off points, or print a label and arrange your own courier. Items must be in as-new condition with tags and packaging intact, and footwear should only have been tried on indoors. Once your parcel arrives, the return is processed within 7 to 10 working days and refunded to the original payment method. There's no exchange service, so if you need a different size you'll need to place a new order.

One detail affects anyone who shops with a code: when you return part of a discounted order, the value of the discount is deducted from the refund. If you bought two items with a 10% code and send one back, you're refunded what you actually paid for it, not its full price. Faulty products are covered by a 12-month retailer warranty, with claims handled by email.

Customer service replies to emails within 24 hours on weekdays, and live chat runs from 9am to 1pm, Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays. Gift cards are delivered by email, either straight away or on a date you choose, and are redeemed in the Discount code or Gift Card field at checkout. They can also be used in Pro:Direct's physical stores, are valid on UK orders only, and the remaining balance can be checked from the Help Centre.

Extra Insights

A few details are rarely explained elsewhere but can change how much you save. The first concerns sizes. When a size is fulfilled by a brand partner, the partner sets the price, which can differ from the price of other sizes of the same product, and Pro:Direct promotions won't apply to it. On the plus side, partner-fulfilled items come with free delivery in 3 to 5 days. If you're flexible on colourway or between two sizes, checking an option stocked by Pro:Direct itself can be the difference between your code working or not.

The second concerns forgotten codes. According to the payment help pages, an order can be cancelled within 15 minutes of being submitted, with the payment returned to the original method. As codes can't be applied retroactively, cancelling within that window and placing the order again with the code is the only realistic way to recover the saving.

The third concerns launches. Exclusive products and high-demand items are excluded from discounts, so a code is unlikely to help on a hyped boot release. For those products, the real advantage is access rather than price: member-only launches and restock alerts in the app improve your chances of getting your size before it sells out.

The last concerns store credit. If you've received store credit, it appears in the payment section at checkout and can be topped up with another payment method when it doesn't cover the full amount, so a small balance never goes to waste.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Pro:Direct Sport legit, and are the products genuine?

Yes. Pro:Direct Sport is a family-owned retailer trading since 1981 and an authorised stockist of brands such as Nike, adidas and PUMA. It's also partnered with the PFA and states that it holds more than 100,000 five-star reviews on Trustpilot.

Is Pro:Direct Sport the same as Pro:Direct Soccer?

Yes. Pro:Direct Soccer, Running, Rugby and the other specialist shops now sit within a single Pro:Direct Sport store and app with one basket. A Pro:Direct Soccer discount code is therefore entered in the same place as any other code, subject to the usual eligibility rules.

Can I use more than one discount at once?

No. The terms allow one discount per order, and promotions can't be combined unless a specific offer says otherwise. Some promotions are automatic, though: they apply at checkout without a code as soon as your basket meets the requirements.

Is there a first order discount?

There isn't a permanent welcome code on the website. New customers generally find their best first-order saving through the app or by joining PD:FC, alongside the codes listed on this page.

Do discount codes work in Pro:Direct stores?

No, discount codes are valid for online purchases only. Gift cards, on the other hand, can be used both online and in store.

Does Pro:Direct Sport offer a Blue Light Card or NHS discount?

There's no dedicated Blue Light Card or NHS scheme listed in the official help pages at the time of writing. The most reliable alternatives are member offers, the outlet and the codes listed above.

When am I charged, including for pre-orders?

Payment is taken in full as soon as you submit your order, pre-orders included. In-stock items are dispatched within a few days, while pre-ordered products are sent according to the dates shown when you ordered.

What should I do if I receive the wrong item?

Contact customer service as soon as possible. Any problem with a delivery should be reported within 14 days of receipt, and the team will arrange a replacement and the return of the incorrect item.

Do Pro:Direct Sport codes expire?

Yes, most codes have an end date and the retailer can withdraw an offer at any time. The list at the top of this page is updated as offers change, so it's worth checking the conditions shown with each code before you use it.

Will I pay a different price if I order from outside the UK?

The price shown on the site is the final price wherever you are. UK prices include VAT and international prices stay the same, with local taxes covered by Pro:Direct in some countries. Orders for the US and EU are handled by dedicated local sites rather than the UK store.

How does store credit work?

Store credit appears automatically in the payment section at checkout, where you can apply it with one click. If it doesn't cover the full total, you can pay the difference with any accepted payment method.
