Amazon is now one of the largest online retailers in the world, aiming to be completely consumer-centric offering anything a customer can think of buying and many valid vouchers for Amazon. While the US version of Amazon was launched in 1994, Amazon UK went online in 1998. Since then, it's continued to grow and expand, offering Amazon promo codes UK and an equal range of products to the US version of the site.

Originally a simple e-commerce site, Amazon now offers a wealth of other options too. Not only is it a shop, but it has a streaming platform, cloud computing, AI, and even online advertising options.

Understand the 4 types of Amazon deals available

Before diving into the several ways in which you can save money when shopping on Amazon, it is important to understand what kinds of deals and coupons are available on the ecommerce site.

1. The most sought-after one is the Amazon discount code UK that needs to be entered at checkout. This can provide a fixed discount, a percentage reduction or another kind of perk (free shipping or a free gift).
2. The website also has a section of on-page Amazon vouchers UK, that are already linked to the specific product that they discount. As a user, you only need to flag the “Apply %% voucher” box in the product page to activate it.
3. There are other discounts that don’t require a code but are visible as automatic price drops and already-applied markdown prices on the product page.
4. Lastly, household items and other products can benefit from the Subscribe & Save option, which applies a 10% to 15% discount on repeat purchases of the same product.

Offers to save your money without Amazon codes UK

Shopping at Amazon can be overwhelming as there are so many products to look through and coupons are not always available. However, shopping and buying here is made easier thanks to various offers that provide discount products even without the need of an Amazon discount voucher.

For instance, the Today’s Deals section lists all the best Amazon promotions of the moment, including products from several categories. These are usually highly discounted and from renowned brands. At the same time the Buy More & Save section collects all the items that, if bought together, unlock a 5% Amazon discount coupon at checkout (when purchasing at least 4 items from the list).

If there are products that you buy repeatedly from your home, office and personal hygiene, then it is a good idea to look for a Subscribe & Save option on them. You can decide the subscription frequency and quantity, while also changing it whenever you want. This activates a 10% discount when you have up to 4 active subscriptions, or a 15% discount with 5 or more subscriptions. You can even cancel, skip or stop it and there is no delivery fee.

Another good option for electronic devices is to go to Amazon Resale (previously known as Amazon Warehouse) to find returned products that still work and look perfect at a fraction of the cost. All the items from this section undergo strict testing and quality checks and come with a statutory legal warranty.

A new section that was first launched in 2025 is Amazon Haul: it includes hundreds of trending items at incredibly low prices. Everything here is available for £20 and under, with the best deals listed as Crazy Low. Purchases from this section enjoy free delivery with a minimum order of £10 and, if you have an Amazon Haul discount code, you can save even more.

Lastly, using an Amazon gift card is a good way to budget. You can choose between physical gift cards, e-gift cards and print-at-home cards.

Common errors when using an Amazon coupon code UK

If the Amazon promotional code UK didn’t work, here is a checklist that can help you fix it.

1. Did you check the expiration date? Sooner or later, almost all Amazon discount vouchers expire. If the day has passed, there is nothing you can do with that Amazon coupon UK: you’ll need to find a new one. Alternatively, it may be a one-use-only code: if you already used it, move on to the next one.
2. Did you write it correctly? The best idea is always to copy and paste the voucher for Amazon, so there is no room for mistakes.
3. Have you read the terms and conditions? Usually there is a minimum spend threshold to meet or some restrictions regarding product categories, brands or “only sold by Amazon” products.
4. Have you already applied an Amazon.co.uk promo code on the same order? You can only enter one code per order, so choose the best one as stacking is not an option.

Black Friday is one of the biggest US sales days of the year. More recently, this iconic day has made its way to the UK where an increasing number of retailers also take part in offering epic sales. Amazon UK is actually part of a larger American company which means it should come as no surprise to find Black Friday fully embraced here. Not only does the brand offer a wealth of different Amazon UK promo codes, but it extends this to a week-long event. Throughout the year, the brand is home to a range of additional sale days and events offering more than a promotion. Prime Day offers big discounts on specific Prime products and electricals: make sure you find the right Amazon Prime discount code for the items you want to buy. Delivery options and free shipping thresholds

When purchasing on the website, there is an important distinction to be made between items sold and fulfilled by Amazon and items sold and fulfilled by Marketplace sellers. The first ones all count towards free delivery thresholds, while the second ones don’t.

For standard users, items sold by Amazon qualify for free standard delivery (3-5 business days time) with a minimum spend of £10 (for books) and £35 (for other items). In the same way, deliveries to a Pick-Up location, be it an Amazon Locker (within 3 calendar days) or an Amazon Counter (within 7 calendar days), require a £10 minimum spend for books and a £20 minimum spend for other items.

Of course, Prime members get free one-day delivery on everything (except Marketplace items).
