What kind of discounts does GRUV offer?

Here is what GRUV discounting really looks like, drawn from 63 promotions tracked over the last two years.

10%

90%

● Up to X is a ceiling: the maximum saving you could reach on a qualifying selection, not a cut applied to every item in your cart. ● Defined discount is a fixed deal you can count on, for example $10 off your order or 20% off a specific product or service, with the amount known up front.

Nearly all GRUV deals are defined, so you know exactly what you save. A full 90% come with a set value, and only a few are up to ceilings.

Most deals here state a fixed saving, so you know the value before checkout. Still worth a quick look at the conditions first.

A Blu-ray deal on GRUV opens and closes with the collection that carries it. The store keeps its discount on the shelf, not on a code: a multi-buy run prices a set of titles as a group, weekend and seasonal collections rotate through themes, and the code that has a terms page of its own is tied to a first order. Whatever is running at this moment sits in the offers listed above, and the rest of this page covers which lever each route pulls and what conditions come attached to it.

This guide was last reviewed in September 2026. The live coupons and prices listed above are updated automatically and take precedence over any example described in this guide.

Multi-buy runs and the collections that rotate

GRUV prices discs in groups. A multi-buy run puts one price on a set number of titles pulled from a named collection, and the run takes its name from the count and the price it sets. No code carries it. The collection page is where the titles of the run are gathered, and every run comes with its own theme and its own list of discs.

Those collections open and close on the store's own schedule, and the site says plainly which is which. The weekend collection writes its window into its own title, running Friday to Monday. Seasonal and themed runs come and go beside it, and warehouse clearance works the same way across DVD, Blu-ray and 4K UHD. A finished run keeps its page: the banner at the top switches to a line saying the offer has finished, and the listing behind it empties out. An empty deal page on this site is the store closing a window, not a broken link.

The banner on one finished DVD multi-buy collection goes a step further, sending shoppers to a Deals page and describing it as the spot that keeps all of GRUV's offers together.

Where a GRUV code goes, and what voids it

A code goes in at the checkout rather than in the cart. The cart page stops at a subtotal and a checkout button; the box that takes the code sits in the order summary and reads "Discount code or gift card", and the button beside it is Apply. What decides the outcome, though, is what the cart is carrying, because GRUV publishes the conditions on its codes and they are narrow ones.

The sign-up discount is the code the store advertises on its own site, and it has a terms page to itself. That page lists movies and TV shows on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K UHD among the categories the code covers, and puts merchandise, hardware and hardware bundles outside it. It is tied to a single order as well: the terms state that the code can only be used on a first order, and that it will not work on any other offers, multi-buys and discount codes.

That last clause is the one to read twice, since a multi-buy run is itself one of the offers the code is barred from joining. Two further limits sit in the same list: no cash alternative is offered in place of the discount, and, in the event of unforeseen circumstances outside its control, the store reserves the right to withdraw, change or substitute the code.

One condition sits on the cart itself. GRUV's FAQ states that promotions carry a per-cart item limit, and that a cart holding more promotional items than that has its promotional discounts removed. The limit in force is published on that page.

The routes to a lower total, compared

A GRUV order can get cheaper along more than one route, and the routes do not behave alike. The table sets out what starts each one and what comes attached to it.

Route	What starts it	What comes attached
Multi-buy run	A named multi-buy collection is open, and the count and the price it sets sit in its own name	No code is involved; the price belongs to the collection and ends when the run does
Weekend and seasonal collections	A themed collection is open when the order goes in	Automatic while the collection is live; the weekend one states a Friday to Monday window in its own title
Newsletter sign-up code	Subscribing, then using the code on a first order	The terms name movies and TV shows on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K UHD; merchandise and hardware excluded, and no combining with other offers, multi-buys or discount codes
Free standard shipping	Placing an order	GRUV states free standard shipping on all orders, and no code applies to it
Discoup points	Signing in to Discoup and reaching GRUV from this page	Points are not earned on an order that uses a discount or promo code not provided by Discoup

Points are the one route that runs through Discoup, and GRUV takes part in it. The terms on the points card say that they are worked out on the net purchase amount, with taxes and additional fees such as shipping left out, that they are not earned on a purchase paid in whole or in part with a gift card, and that they stay locked for a period after the order before they can be spent.

Discounts GRUV does not run

What this site does not run is as clear as what it does. The Help menu on the store's help and terms pages runs to About Us, Shipping, Returns, the FAQ, the terms pages, the digital FAQ, contact and the sign-up discount. Nothing else is listed there, and that includes anything resembling a membership, a points card of the store's own or a tier to climb.

Student and military pricing are not part of the picture either. Neither has a page among those Help links, and none of the store's help or terms pages sets out an eligibility check or a verification step that would lead to one. What a student pays here is what everyone else pays.

Price matching gets the flattest answer on the site. GRUV's FAQ puts the question to itself, whether it price matches or offers price adjustments, and answers that it does not, on any product sold on GRUV.com.

Shipping, packaging and paying for an order

Shipping is straightforward here. GRUV's shipping page carries free standard shipping on all orders as a heading of its own, and its FAQ answers the same question the same way. As the page puts it, the offer covers every order, with no minimum named.

Delivery stops at the border. The Terms of Sale state that GRUV sells only to the United States and does not accept orders from, or deliver to, addresses outside that territory, and the FAQ adds US territories to the places it ships. The same page notes that packages heading to Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico and the territories can run a good deal longer than a mainland delivery. Dispatch follows a published cutoff: an order placed before it goes out the same business day, a later one the next business day, and a Friday order that misses the cutoff waits for Monday.

Steelbook buyers get one detail that has nothing to do with price. GRUV packs single standard-size Steelbook orders in what it calls GRUV GUARD, protective packaging it designed for the format, and it states that this comes at no additional cost.

Payment is taken when the order goes in, and GRUV accepts Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express, as well as PayPal. A pre-order works the same way: payment is taken at the point the pre-order goes in, whichever method is used.

Common questions about GRUV codes, returns and orders

Does GRUV still sell digital codes?

That side of the business is closed. GRUV states that GRUV Digital ended its operation on December 29, 2025 and no longer provides digital codes, and that the store stays focused on its physical disc business across DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra High Definition. It adds that digital codes are still available from other retailers, just not on GRUV. A page of digital terms is still linked from the Help menu, alongside the closure notice itself.

Can a disc go back once it has been opened?

Not once the wrapping is off. The returns page states that DVDs, Blu-rays and 4K discs that have been opened or have had their shrink-wrap removed are not eligible for return. A sealed disc has 14 days from the day it reaches you, either for a full refund or for an exchange, and the return is arranged by contacting customer services, who issue a Returns Authorization number along with the instructions. Postage on something no longer wanted is paid by whoever sends it back.

What happens if a disc arrives damaged?

The cost moves to the store in that case. GRUV says it will put a damaged or faulty item right by sending a replacement or refunding the account, and that where it asks for the item to come back, it pays for the return itself with a pre-paid label. The same page asks for a return to start with an email to customer services rather than a parcel in the post.

Will a GRUV discount code work on a wholesale or trade order?

No, and the Terms of Sale are explicit about it: orders placed for wholesale and trading purposes are not eligible for any discount, and GRUV reserves the right not to supply bulk orders bought to sell on commercially. The returns page carries the matching clause, reserving the right to refuse a return or a refund on products bought from it in bulk for resale. The sign-up code terms repeat the exclusion a third time.

Does a disc come with its slipcover?

There is no guarantee either way, and GRUV says as much. Many studios discontinue slipcovers after the initial release, so a title that has been restocked can come from mixed inventory. The store flags two specifics on top of that: Warner Bros. DVD and Blu-ray new releases stopped including slipcovers from July 2024, and 4K UHD releases carry them on pre-orders and release-date orders only.

Where do orders from the old GRUV site live now?

They are still reachable, on a path of their own. GRUV states that orders placed before July 22, 2025 can be viewed through an Orders Prior to July 22nd link at the top of the account page, or on the old website, and it sends anything left unclear about them to its customer service address.
