Etsy Coupon Code valid in October 2026

Two very different things travel under the same name on Etsy, and knowing which one you are holding decides whether checkout cooperates. A shop coupon is set up by a seller and lives inside that one shop. An Etsy coupon is funded by the marketplace itself and reaches selected buyers by email. Both are entered from your Cart, under Apply coupon code, and neither works unless you are logged in to an Etsy account. Everything below follows that split, starting with the offers listed on this page today.

This guide was last reviewed in fall 2026. The live coupons and prices listed above are updated automatically and take precedence over any example described in this guide.

Etsy coupon codes, shop sales and holiday timing this season

Read against the cards and Etsy's Help Center in fall 2026. Early in the fall, the cards at the top mixed codes to paste in the Cart with offers that need no code: price cuts on personalized gifts, toys, home decor, furniture and home tech accessories, gift picks under a set price, and free shipping on a large group of eligible listings.

Holiday dates and Etsy's own sales events. Fall and early winter bring Halloween, Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Cyber Monday and the holiday gift rush. Around big retail dates such as Cyber Monday, Etsy often runs a sales event of its own, and joining is each shop's choice: a seller who takes part picks the discount and the listings it covers, and the reduced price applies without a code.

A limit on coverage for late orders. Purchase Protection's refund for a late arrival, set out in the delivery and refunds section, does not apply when Etsy decides the delay came from events outside the seller's control, such as a carrier strike or severe weather.

Three questions about gift orders on Etsy

Can an Etsy coupon pay for an Etsy gift card? No. Buying an Etsy gift card is one of the uses Etsy's coupon policy rules out, and an Etsy credit balance cannot buy one either. The gift card itself reaches the person it is for as a unique code by email, or you can print it yourself.

What happens to an Etsy coupon when a gift is refunded? Its value does not come back. A refund is capped at what you paid toward the purchase, and no replacement coupon follows. Spending a coupon on an item priced below its value loses the difference in the same way, and where a coupon states a maximum discount, the part of that maximum you do not use is forfeited.

How can I tell whether a gift will arrive in time? From the listing, before you buy. Where the seller's shipping settings provide one, it shows an estimated delivery range that takes the seller's processing time and the carrier's latest transit times into account, and search results can be narrowed by estimated delivery date. Once you have ordered, the estimate is recalculated if the seller finishes early.

Applying a code in the Etsy cart

The code box sits in the Cart, on the website and in the app alike, and you use it before you check out. The field will not accept anything until you have logged in.

1. Put everything you plan to buy in the Cart first.
2. Open the Cart and scroll down to Apply coupon code.
3. Type or paste the code into the box.
4. Select Apply, then watch the total move before you pay.

If you can, paste the code in place of typing it: a stray space or two characters in the wrong order can be enough to get a valid code refused.

Shop coupon or Etsy coupon: telling them apart

The two families look identical in the box and behave differently everywhere else. One is a marketing tool a seller built for their own shop. The other is funded by Etsy itself, and it comes with the marketplace's own conditions attached.

On the Etsy side, the discount comes off the item price, with tax and shipping left out of the calculation, so a percentage coupon is worked out on the items alone.

How many discounts fit on one item

The rule here is easier to remember than it looks. Inside one shop you can put a maximum of two offers on an eligible item, and one of those two has to be free shipping. That is the whole allowance for a shop's own offers. If the shop is not running a free shipping promotion at that moment, the option to apply a second discount will not even appear.

Sellers may have more than one promotion live at once, and you do not have to work out which is best. Where several apply to the same listing, Etsy puts the strongest one on by itself, and some offers attach automatically as soon as the item is in your cart. If two sales overlap on a listing, only the higher discount counts.

Coupons funded by Etsy sit on a separate layer. One of those can be used alongside a shop coupon or a shop sale, and it can go on an order you are paying for with a gift card balance. Bundles are the exception that trips people up: a seller can group up to three listings at a reduced price, but a bundle will not sit alongside other sales and promotions, so you have to pick the deal you prefer.

Getting shipping down to zero

No marketplace-wide code removes delivery costs on Etsy: the coupons Etsy funds reduce the item price only, leaving shipping as it is. The nearest equivalent is a setting each shop chooses for itself, and it stays on until the shop turns it off.

The main route is the free shipping guarantee. A shop can switch it on, and once it is on, buyers in the US pay nothing to ship a single item priced $35 or more, or an order totaling $35 or more from that shop, provided their Etsy region is set to the US and their currency to USD. It carries over to new listings above that price, and it works whether the seller ships from inside the US or from abroad. Shipping upgrades stay chargeable even on an order that qualifies, so choosing a faster service puts a cost back on the line.

Two smaller routes are worth knowing. A seller's own promo code can cover standard shipping instead of cutting the price, and that is precisely the kind that unlocks the second slot described above. And in search, opening Show filters brings up a Special offers group that gathers sales, free shipping and personalization together, so you can narrow to shops that already ship at no cost before you start comparing.

Cutting the price with nothing to redeem

On a marketplace of small independent sellers, the code is only part of the story. A seller's promo code can take anywhere from 5% to 75% off, a fixed amount, or the standard shipping charge, and sellers can also run sales that lower the price with nothing to redeem.

Then there is an option that has nothing to do with codes. Where a seller allows it, a listing carries a Make an offer button, and you can propose a lower price for the quantity you want. From a browser you can pick a preset of 10%, 15% or 20% off instead of naming a figure yourself. The seller decides, and if they accept you have 48 hours to complete the purchase. Two caveats before you send one: an accepted offer does not reserve the item, so someone else can still buy it first, and proposing a price never obliges you to go through with it.

Email is the third route. Sellers can set up targeted offers that go out to shoppers who have opted in to Etsy's marketing emails and left an item sitting in a cart, added something to their favorites, or showed repeated interest in a listing, and a seller can also send a thank-you offer once an order is complete. Only one targeted offer can apply per purchase, and where the item is already in a sale the higher of the two discounts wins. Etsy is explicit that it may change how these work, so the route is dependable while the fine print is not.

Gift card and credit balances round it off. They apply from the Cart, under How you'll pay, and they only work in shops that take card payments through Etsy. They will not run alongside Apple Pay or Google Pay, since those move the payment off Etsy to finish, nor with a third-party installment plan.

Why an Etsy promo code is refused

These are the causes to rule out when a code is refused.

• Wrong shop: a shop coupon only works in the shop that created it, and every shop runs its own promotions with its own codes.
• Conditions not met: a minimum spend, a restricted set of eligible items, or the threshold behind a free shipping offer. The cart has to satisfy all of them, not most.
• Expired: an Etsy coupon carries its expiry date in the email that delivered it, while a seller's code ends whenever the seller decided it would.
• Currency mismatch: an Etsy coupon issued in one currency only applies while you are browsing in that same currency.
• Already spent: coupons funded by Etsy are one per buyer, cannot be forwarded to anyone else, and are spent in a single transaction.
• Signed out: codes attach to an account, so a cart nobody has logged into will refuse them.
• A stronger offer got there first: where a shop is running several promotions Etsy applies the best one automatically, which can leave your code with nothing left to discount.
• Shop outside Etsy's card payments: Etsy-funded coupons and balances only work in shops enrolled to take card payments through the platform.

Delivery dates, cancellations and refunds

There is no fixed delivery time on Etsy, because processing times vary from seller to seller. The estimated date you see is generally built from two pieces: the seller's processing time, meaning how long it takes them to make and prepare the item, plus the carrier's usual transit time. Not every order shows one, because that comes down to the shipping settings each seller has configured.

Cancellations, returns and refunds belong to the seller, not to the platform. Each shop sets its own policy on every listing, and a seller is not obliged to accept a return or an exchange unless that listing's policy says so. If you want to change or cancel an order, the seller is the person who can actually do it, so message them first and settle the details before anything is sent back.

Behind that sits Etsy's Purchase Protection program, which covers a qualifying order with a full refund when the package never arrives, arrives damaged, lands 7 or more days after the latest estimated delivery date you were given at checkout, or differs significantly from the description and photos. The route is fixed: contact the seller first, and Open a case becomes available once 48 hours have passed since that message without a resolution and the latest estimated delivery date has gone by. For a package that never arrives, the option appears only 7 or more days after that date. If you checked out as a guest, you have to link the order to an Etsy account before you can start.
