Which of these actually need a code? Three of the six rows do, and the cards say so themselves by handing over a code instead of sending you straight through. The other three are priced offers: nothing to paste, and nothing to mistype.

Which row closes first? The Med+ two-month rate at the top of the list. The two commitment-plan rows at the bottom run the longest of the six, which is why the order here is by closing date and not by size.

Does the biggest headline mean the biggest saving? Not on its own. The largest percentages on this list sit on the 10-month and 12-month commitments, so the figure to compare is the whole term and not the monthly line.

The price is attached to a term, not to a cart

WeightWatchers sells memberships, so there is no basket to reduce. The plans page lists three of them, Core, Core+ and Med+, and every headline rate it prints is quoted against a 12-month commitment, with the plan renewing for another 12-month period at the end of the term. Core+ carries a limit of its own and is sold in participating areas only. Med+ is priced without the cost of the GLP-1 medication, a line the plans page prints next to the rate.

The membership terms are blunt about what that commitment costs if you change your mind. The subscription fee is not refundable or cancellable once a billing period has started on a standard monthly plan, or once a commitment period has started on a long-term one, and a member who terminates still pays the monthly fee to the end of that billing period or that commitment plan. The same terms put the handling of a cancellation request at within 72 hours of receiving it. The exceptions that do return the unused portion are narrow and named: a medical reason, a move of more than 15 miles from a Workshop location with none within 5 miles of the new address, or the closure of the Workshop itself.

Leaving is at least not a phone-only errand. The billing and technical help page says a subscription can be canceled online and that the request is processed right away, and it repeats the standing rule: billing renews each month until the account is closed. Read the term length on a discounted plan before the rate, because the term is the part you are agreeing to.

Student, teacher, military and healthcare rates

Four groups have a rate reserved for them on weightwatchers.com: college students, teachers, military personnel, and healthcare workers and first responders. Each landing page that carries one of those rates opens on a monthly figure lower than the standard one printed beside it, and at the moment those figures match one another, so the choice between them is about eligibility.

The terms behind those rates are short. A purchase is required, and the rate is tied to a commitment whose length the offer terms set. No code appears at any point in that route, which is what people go looking for and do not find: the reduction is attached to the landing page, not to a coupon.

That makes the page you begin on part of what you pay. These rates live on landing pages of their own, and the help center lists a code entered on the wrong sign-up page among the standard reasons a code comes back as invalid, so the route in matters as much as the eligibility itself.

Routes that replace a code

The benefit route. WeightWatchers runs individual landing pages for employers and health plans. The one published for a state employer prices the plan off the benefit and not off an offer: it opens with a stated employer discount and an eligibility check before enrollment, and it describes what sits behind that check as full access to the program. The trial route. The brand keeps a trial landing page of its own, offering 30 days of membership, and its terms are the part to read: at the end of the 30 days the account is subscribed automatically at the standard monthly fee unless it is canceled before midnight Eastern on the final day. The help center adds a limit the landing page leaves out, since only new subscribers are eligible and a trial code presented for an account that has already had one comes back as invalid.

The invite route. The Invite a Friend terms page puts the reward at three free months for anyone who signs up for Core or Core+ through a friend's personal invitation link and buys a 6-month commitment plan, with the standard fee resuming for the rest of that plan. It is limited to new or rejoining members, it does not cover the clinic plans and services, and cancellation still waits for the end of the commitment plan.

Where a code goes, and what it is called

There is no shopping cart in this flow, so a WeightWatchers promo code is not applied to an order at the end. It goes in during sign-up, after the plan has been picked and while the payment details are being taken, so a code copied before a plan exists has nowhere to land for the first few screens. The brand's US homepage starts that flow with a Join now button that leads into its plan finder.
