Blue Apron+ is the paid side, an add-on membership. Blue Apron describes it as covering shipping fees on every order, adding unlimited access to a library of food, home and travel programming, and carrying members-only perks and discounts. The company publishes a monthly price and a cheaper annual one, and states that an annual membership renews by itself after twelve months unless it is canceled, with a reminder sent ahead of the renewal date.

Two details decide whether it earns its place. Blue Apron offers a 30-day free trial, started from the Blue Apron+ area of the account, which is enough to see a delivery cycle through before paying anything. And a cancellation is not immediate in effect: the benefits keep running until the billing cycle already paid for expires, so canceling early in a month does not throw away the rest of it.

The discount that asks you to prove something first

Blue Apron runs one standing discount that is not open to everyone, and it publishes both the eligibility list and the steps on a page of its own.
