Two things are settled on a Vimeo order before a code is ever typed: which plan you are on, and whether you are paying for a year or by the month. A promo code comes off a single purchase, redeemed while you are buying a plan, and Vimeo's help center rules it out on renewals, on added seats, on free trials and on Enterprise. So the code arrives last, on top of choices already made, and it gets one chance to land. What you can claim depends on the plan you choose, on how you agree to pay for it, and on whether Vimeo has to check who you are first.
This guide was last reviewed in fall 2026. The live coupons and prices listed above are updated automatically and take precedence over any example described in this guide.
Vimeo in fall 2026, and the holiday weeks of 2025
Vimeo's offers and policies, read in fall 2026. The Vimeo cards on this page mixed codes that take a percentage off a plan purchase with offers that need no code, among them plan prices quoted by the month and a reduction tied to the annual option, each card printing its own end date. Vimeo's discounts FAQ, for its part, listed free trials for the paid memberships, with Enterprise left out.
One change on Vimeo's side came from On Demand, where new purchases and subscriptions were blocked in September 2026. The redemption of On Demand promo codes stopped with them, ahead of the shutdown that Vimeo's notice sets for November 2026. The plans are a separate product and sit outside that calendar, which the On Demand section further down lays out in full.
Vimeo's discounts FAQ changed in September 2026 too. A note added under its non-profit question now reserves that discount for regular self-serve plans, leaving Enterprise contracts and custom agreements outside it; the answer on student and teacher discounts reads as it did before.
On Black Friday 2025 and again on Cyber Monday 2025, Vimeo's home page kept its usual opening, a pitch for the platform as a whole, and advertised no holiday sale.
The purchases a code is allowed to touch
Vimeo puts the redemption steps and the limits in the same help article, and the limits are the half that decides. The help center describes the step as selecting the promo-code control while you buy a plan, entering your unique code, then selecting Apply code and continuing to complete the purchase. That wording is Vimeo's own.
The same article sets out where a code cannot go. It excludes free trials, renewals, additional seats, previous purchases and Enterprise plans, and it states that each code carries an expiration date and cannot be transferred. Vimeo's discounts FAQ adds the rule that binds those exclusions together: its promo codes are valid for one purchase only, and there are no promotional codes for recurring or permanently discounted subscriptions.
Read together, the two passages fix how far a code can reach, and the answer is narrow. It belongs to the moment you first pay for a plan. A subscription already running does not take one at renewal, a seat added later falls outside what a code may touch, and a trial takes none at all. Anything live right now sits in the coupon list on this page, with its own terms attached, and it is those terms that decide.
Paying by the year, or by the month
Vimeo's pricing page names four paid plans, Starter, Standard, Advanced and Enterprise. The first three are priced by the month, billed annually or monthly, each with a set number of included users; Enterprise shows no price at all, only an invitation to talk to Vimeo's team, and in place of a button to buy, its card offers a link to contact sales. A free plan turns up as well, in the answers to that page's own questions. Paid subscriptions run on two billing cycles, annual and monthly, which is how Vimeo's own refund rules describe them. Three questions settle what a code is able to add on top of that.
Are you paying for a year, or by the month? That is settled before a code comes into it, and it fixes the term you are committing to. Some of the offers on this page are written for the annual option and say so in their own terms, so the cycle you pick also decides which of them you are able to use. A code sits on top of whichever cycle you choose, once.
How many people will use it? The pricing page states that a plan comes with at least one seat, the account owner's, and that owners can buy more for admins or contributors. Additional seats sit on the exclusion list quoted above, so the size of the team is a decision to settle before you pay, not after.
How long do you have to change your mind? The pricing page and the refunds FAQ agree on the window and split it by cycle: a yearly subscription can be refunded up to 14 days after the initial purchase, a monthly one up to 3 days. The same FAQ rules out partial and pro-rated refunds, so that window is a yes or a no.
Discounts you have to qualify for
Not every reduction here is published as a code you can pick up. Vimeo's discounts FAQ sets out two such reductions, and it limits both to the United States.
For non-profits, the FAQ tells a qualifying organization to contact Vimeo, and states that US organizations holding a valid 501c3 form can receive a one-time 25% off promo code, with official documentation of the organization's non-profit status required before it is issued. That discount is reserved for regular self-serve plans and cannot be applied to Enterprise contracts or custom agreements. For education, the same page states that Vimeo offers discounts to students and teachers located in the United States, as a one-time promo code available to verified students and teachers who have supplied their email address. It also says the support team cannot fulfill discount requests beyond these.
Both land where every code lands, on a single purchase, so the code has to be in hand before the plan is paid for. For its other promotions and offers, Vimeo names one channel, telling members to opt in to the Cool Deals emails under their news notification settings.
Referring someone, and what it pays
Vimeo runs a referral program with an agreement of its own, and reading it clears up a common mix-up: the reward goes to the member who refers, not to the person who signs up. Membership is not automatic either. The agreement asks that you hold a paid Vimeo plan and apply through the program portal, and Vimeo decides who is accepted.
On the self-serve route, a referral counts once the person you invited buys a subscription directly from Vimeo within 30 days of the referral. The agreement sets the reward at $50 in Amazon gift cards for an annual self-serve subscription, issued within 60 days of that person becoming a customer, and it withholds the reward if, inside that same window, the customer is refunded, the transaction is reversed or charged back, or the account is closed for non-payment.
One exclusion in that agreement lands directly on a page like this one. It states that no qualified customer results from someone who subscribes through a discount, bundle or promotional offer separate from the program. So the two routes do not sit together: on the agreement's own wording, a newcomer who arrives on a separate promotional offer leaves the member who invited them unpaid.
What the On Demand shutdown means for codes
Vimeo sells more than subscriptions, and it has announced the end of one of those products. The shutdown notice Vimeo published for Vimeo On Demand lays out the calendar: new uploads blocked from August 2026, new purchases and subscriptions blocked from late September 2026, final seller payouts processed that same month, and the platform's full shutdown in November 2026. After that point the notice says viewers lose access to titles they bought or rented, and all On Demand pages, storefronts and purchase flows go offline.
What that does to codes is stated in the help center: with new purchases switched off since September 2026, On Demand promo codes can no longer be redeemed. The notice encourages viewers to download anything that supports offline viewing before the shutdown date. An offer on this page that points at a rental or at a single title belongs to that route, and with purchases switched off it cannot be completed either. The subscription plans are a separate product, and the notice leaves them where they are.
Questions that come up before you pay
Which cards and wallets does Vimeo take?
Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and JCB, plus PayPal, are the methods Vimeo's payment article lists as accepted for plans, VOD and purchases, with Carte Bleue, CartaSi, Dankort and China UnionPay named as international options. PayPal carries two exceptions the article spells out: add-on seat purchases, and any purchase made from India. Checks, invoices and purchase orders are not accepted for memberships, and the article notes that multiple-seat purchases have to go through vimeo.com and not through the apps.
Where does a cancellation actually happen?
In your account, and Vimeo's cancellation article gives the sequence in its own words: open the billing settings page, select Membership plan, select Billing, then select Cancel subscription and confirm. The article adds that the billing settings page only opens for an account carrying an active subscription or trial, that paid features stay available until the end of the current billing cycle, and that the account then lapses to the free tier. It also states that refunds are not issued automatically when you cancel, and it points Enterprise accounts to their account manager instead.
What changes if the plan was bought inside an app?
The place you manage it. Vimeo states that a subscription bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play shows no cancel option in the billing settings on vimeo.com and has to be handled on that platform. Refunds follow the same split: the refunds FAQ says Vimeo cannot process refunds for purchases made through Apple and points to Apple Support, while for Google Play it accepts a request directly or leaves it to Google Play support.
Are extra seats or AI credits refundable?
No, and the refunds FAQ is direct about it. Add-on purchases such as additional seats and AI credits fall outside refunds, with a single exception the page spells out: seats added alongside the initial subscription purchase are refunded with it, provided that subscription is still eligible. Vimeo asks that team members be removed from those seats before the request, since it cannot process a refund on seats that are in use.
Can a promo code cost you Discoup points on a Vimeo order?
It can. In the points summary printed on this page, a Vimeo order carrying a promo code that Discoup did not hand out gets no points at all, and the full Discoup Rewards terms leave a little more room: if Discoup never published or approved the code, the points on that purchase may be cut down, held back or lost. Vimeo takes part in the program, which the current terms schedule to run through the end of 2026. The same summary holds new points locked for a few days after the purchase date before they can be used, and calculates them on the net amount, leaving out taxes and additional fees.
