Two different things happen when a Chico’s order goes through. One is settled at the checkout screen, where a single brand offer comes off the total and the number visibly drops. The other only surfaces weeks later, when the points collected on that purchase have grown into a Reward Certificate sitting in the account. Chico’s accepts one brand offer per order and no more, which puts a firm ceiling on what any single code can do, while Club Chico’s points accrue on qualifying merchandise purchases after discounts and carry from one order to the next. It pays to decide which of those two routes an order belongs to before you go looking for a code, because the answer on a bag of full-price dresses is rarely the answer on a bag of final-sale tops.

Chico’s promo codes for August 2026: a board built mostly on offers that need no code
Verified for August 2026. This is the shape of the Chico’s board at the time of writing, and the board rotates far faster than the guide below it. Every line in the list underneath has a matching card in the coupon area, and that card holds the wording and the closing day as they stand today, so read it before you plan a purchase around anything summarized here.
The mix itself is the finding worth carrying away. Almost everything currently on the board applies on its own once the qualifying items are in the bag, and a typed promo code is the exception rather than the pattern. That is unusual enough to change how you shop the page: the useful question this month is which collection or which markdown an offer names, not which string to paste into the box.
One rule from Chico’s own coupons page governs the whole board regardless of which line you pick. Only one Chico’s Brand offer per order may be accepted. An offer does not reach previously purchased merchandise, gift cards, taxes or shipping either. Two lines that both look applicable to your bag are therefore a choice, not a plan to use both.
Chico’s offers verified for August 2026, last checked on August 30:
- Buy one, get one 50% off — pairing offer inside the jewelry assortment — applies to jewelry rather than apparel, so it rarely competes with a clothing promotion — a long-dated card rather than a short event.
- Free curbside pickup — a service instead of a discount — orders are held for a set number of days from the day they are processed — another long-dated entry on the board.
- 25% off — percentage promotion on full-price dresses — markdowns and final-sale tickets sit outside it — the card runs into the first days of October.
- 40% off — percentage promotion tied to named Chico’s lines, Zenergy and Travelers — limited to those collections rather than the whole catalog — the card has several weeks left.
- Up to 75% off — final-sale markdown already built into the ticket — final-sale items cannot be returned, exchanged or price adjusted — the card closes at the start of October.
- 15% off — welcome offer for addresses new to the Chico’s email list — read that card for the terms that apply — closes on the same day as the final-sale card above.
Where a card and a line here disagree, follow the card. The board is rebuilt as offers open and close, while this reading was taken on a single day, and each card carries the eligibility wording and the end date that actually govern the order. The cards at the top are also the only place a live promo code appears, which matters this month more than usual.
The trap in this particular list: a brand offer is subtracted before Chico’s measures what your purchase is worth in points. The program terms count points on qualifying merchandise after discounts, so the deeper the offer, the smaller the balance it leaves behind. On a bag that would carry you over a status threshold or finish off a certificate, the offer with the bigger headline is not automatically the cheaper order.
Worth reopening in a few weeks: Chico’s states that a Reward Certificate is emailed and posted to the Club Chico’s account within forty-five days of the point balance being reached. Anything you buy in early fall is therefore paying for a certificate that lands well before the holidays, which makes the account page, rather than the offer board, the thing to check next month.
Settle these before you check out
You are holding two offers and one order. Which goes in? Only one of them, if both are Chico’s Brand offers, because the coupons page permits a single brand offer on an order and says plainly that it does not combine with other offers or events. A Reward Certificate behaves differently: the company puts the ceiling at five coupons or special offers alongside a certificate in the same transaction, in store or on the website. The pairing that works is therefore a certificate plus an offer, never an offer plus another offer.
You are picking the order up at a boutique instead of having it shipped. Then bring the price question with you. Chico’s tells pickup customers that if the item is available at a lower price in the store, a price adjustment may be requested at the time of pickup. That is a request made at the counter while the order is still being handed over, and it disappears the moment you walk out with the bag.
You are being offered a Chico’s card at the register. Read the timing before the percentage. The discount is valid for one use only, and Chico’s specifies that in store it has to be used at that location on the day you are approved, while online the code arrives on approval and lasts forty-eight hours. Applicants who get no decision on the spot but are approved later receive a coupon in the credit card package instead, so a delayed answer is not a lost offer.
One brand offer per order, and the exceptions
The single most useful sentence Chico’s publishes about its own coupons is also the shortest. Only one Chico’s Brand offer per order may be accepted. The coupons page then adds that such an offer is not combined with other offers or events. Everything shoppers describe as codes fighting each other at the cart follows from that one line, and no amount of retyping gets around it.
What does stack is the reward side of the program. A Reward Certificate may share a transaction with as many as five coupons or special offers, in store or on the website, which is why a certificate almost never has to be held back for a quiet week. The certificate is money the account already owns; the brand offer is the one competitive slot in the order.
Two membership benefits sit outside the contest as well, and both are described as being applied after other discounts. Founders 5% is written as five percent off merchandise purchases for VIP members and VIP cardmembers, applied after other discounts and excluding gift cards and previous purchases. The first-purchase discount attached to a new Chico’s card is described the same way: it can be combined with other offers, and any other discounts are applied before that percentage is taken.
The order of operations matters more than you would think. A discount applied first shrinks the base that the next one works on, and it also shrinks the amount Chico’s counts toward points, since the program measures qualifying purchases after discounts. On a large bag it is worth deciding whether you want the money now or the balance later, because on Chico’s terms you do not get the full version of both.
Putting a promo code on a Chico’s order
Chico’s documents the field itself rather than leaving shoppers to hunt for it. Its coupons page describes looking in the online cart for the box marked Promo Code, clicking into it, typing or pasting the code and hitting Apply, at which point a valid code updates the cart. The company frames the same step from the checkout side as well, saying the discount code is entered during the first step of the checkout process.
Trust the subtotal. A code that has landed rewrites the figure on screen; one that leaves the figure where it was has not been applied. Chico’s writes its own instruction for the case where a discount has not applied automatically to an online purchase, which is the situation the promo box exists for: where an offer has already come off the bag, there may be nothing left to type.
Codes are not confined to the website either. Rewards and brand coupons work at Chico’s locations, outlets included, on chicos.com and on the customer service phone line, and the company puts that in writing. If the code came by email or on a printed offer, the company asks that it be entered exactly as it appears there, which is the polite version of a warning about stray spaces and swapped characters.
Reward Certificates travel by a different path from codes. Chico’s describes redeeming them at any Chico’s, Chico’s Outlet or Chico’s Off The Rack location, or online at chicos.com, by presenting the certificate at checkout or applying it in the account, and the Birthday Reward can be redeemed in store by having an associate pull it up, through the link in the email, or by entering the code by hand.
Why the promo box turns a code down
Start with the exclusions Chico’s prints beside its own offers, because they account for most of the refusals. Previously purchased merchandise, gift cards, taxes and shipping are all named as sitting outside an offer, which is also described as having no cash value.
The second group of refusals is about the merchandise itself. The cardmember discount terms exclude gift cards, prior purchases, third-party or non-brand merchandise and clearance items, and the final-sale rule runs alongside them: goods marked final sale are sold as is and are not eligible for a return, an exchange or a price adjustment. A promotion written for full-price dresses will not apply to a rack of markdowns, and that is how the promotion was drafted, not a malfunction at the box.
Third is the arithmetic problem of having two offers in hand, which is the one shoppers most often mistake for a broken code. Chico’s accepts one brand offer per order, so the second one is refused by design once the first has landed. Clearing the box and trying the other is the way to compare them; keeping both is not on the table.
Finally, Chico’s keeps the ordinary protections in place. Its coupons page states that offers are not valid if reproduced, that they are accepted only for a limited time, and that the details of each offer vary, so the restrictions printed on the individual coupon are the ones that decide the outcome. A code circulating without its terms attached is the version most likely to fail at the box.
Club Chico’s: points that become certificates
Club Chico’s is the program the coupons feed into, and its program terms state that there is no fee to join or to keep a membership, with eligibility open to anyone eighteen or older who lives in a US state, in Washington, DC, or in a US territory. Members earn points on qualifying purchases, and the rewards page sets the conversion at 1,000 points for a $10 reward, with the FAQ describing the same rate in smaller steps as 500 points for a $5 Reward Certificate.
The earning rate depends on how you pay rather than on how much you buy at once. Chico’s lists members at 2.5 points per dollar spent and cardmembers at 7.5 points per dollar on Chico’s purchases, and it says outright that a card is not required to earn: you simply earn more per dollar with one. Points are counted on most merchandise purchases after discounts, with taxes, shipping, gift cards and certain excluded merchandise left out of the total.
Where you shop matters as much as what you buy. The program page describes earning and redeeming at Chico’s, Chico’s Outlets and Chico’s Off The Rack locations and on chicos.com, which is the boundary of the program and worth reading closely: the places it names are all Chico’s. Points post within about three business days on qualifying Chico’s purchases, and Chico’s says they cannot be added retroactively, so a purchase made without identifying yourself is a purchase that earned nothing.
Both halves of the balance run on a clock, and they are not the same clock. Points last 730 days from the day they are earned unless they have been turned into a Reward Certificate, and a certificate has to be redeemed within 180 days of issue, which the rewards page describes as rewards valid for six months. There is no cap on points earned. One condition trips people up: if you return an item bought with a certificate, Chico’s says the certificate is forfeited and the points are not restored.
Chico’s takes part in the Discoup points program as well, and that runs on our side rather than theirs. Sign in here before you head over, and a tracked order builds a points balance with us whichever of Chico’s own routes lowered the bill.
VIP status and the Chico’s credit card
There are two membership levels and the second one is earned by spending. Chico’s grants Member status on joining and describes VIP Member status as reached by spending $500 or more on qualifying purchases within a calendar year at Chico’s, Chico’s Outlets or Chico’s Off The Rack locations, or on chicos.com. Reaching it upgrades you for the remainder of that calendar year plus all of the next one, with notification within fifteen days of qualifying.
Status is reviewed, not permanent. Chico’s says levels are looked at annually on January 1 and are based on qualifying spend in the preceding calendar year, so keeping VIP means meeting the requirement again in the new year. That review date is the reason a large purchase in December and the same purchase in January belong to different qualifying years.
The two benefits attached to VIP are the ones worth planning around. Founders 5% is described as five percent off merchandise purchases for VIP members and VIP cardmembers, taken after other discounts and excluding gift cards and previous purchases, and original Founders 5 members keep it by making at least one qualifying purchase each year. Free standard shipping is the other, offered to VIP members above an order minimum in the continental US, and applied automatically at checkout once you are signed in.
The credit card is a separate decision with its own terms, issued by Synchrony rather than by Chico’s. Cardmembers earn 7.5 points per dollar on Chico’s purchases and get free standard shipping with no minimum purchase on qualifying online orders paid with the card. Applicants are considered for the Chico’s Mastercard first and, if they do not qualify for it, for the Chico’s Credit Card, which Chico’s describes as carrying the same benefits when shopping in store at Chico’s. The Mastercard version also earns 2 points per dollar at grocery stores and restaurants and 1 point per dollar everywhere else it is accepted, with those points posting after each billing cycle rather than in a few days.
Approval carries a one-time discount on the first purchase, and its terms are tighter than the headline. Chico’s states that it is valid for a single use, that it can be combined with other offers with any other discounts applied before it, and that it excludes gift cards, prior purchases, non-brand merchandise and clearance. In store it must be used at the location where you were approved, on the day you were approved; online the code is issued on approval and lives for forty-eight hours. Anyone approved after leaving the store is sent a coupon in the card package instead.
Money off without anything to type in
Chico’s prices a large part of its markdown range straight into the ticket, and it publishes the tell. The return policy states that merchandise prices ending in .98 indicate final sale, which turns the price tag itself into a signal: those tickets are the cheapest in the store and also the ones you cannot return, exchange or have price adjusted. Reading the last two digits before you commit is the whole trick.
The email list is the standard way in for anyone not yet in the program. Chico’s offers a discount on a first purchase to new subscribers and says on its coupons page that joining the email list brings additional savings off your next purchase, alongside the point earning that joining Club Chico’s starts. The current welcome percentage lives on its own card in the coupon area, not in this paragraph, because that figure moves.
A birthday reward is keyed to the calendar, not to a promotion. Chico’s emails it to members whose profile carries a birth month and a current email address, and it is redeemed in store by having an associate access it or online through the link, through the account, or by entering the code manually. Filling in the birth month is a one-minute job in the account profile that pays once a year.
The outlet side of the business is a separate savings channel with its own rules. Chico’s Outlets and Chico’s Off The Rack locations count for earning and redeeming in the program, but the return policy keeps the two sides apart: boutique purchases cannot be returned to Off The Rack or an outlet, and outlet purchases cannot be returned to a boutique. Buying at the outlet is cheaper going in and less flexible coming back.
Store pickup and the price adjustment
Picking an order up at a boutique is the one route that can still take money off after the order has been placed. Chico’s tells pickup customers that if the item is available at a lower price in the store, they may request a price adjustment at the time of pickup, subject to exclusions. Nothing about that happens automatically, and the moment passes when the bag changes hands.
The mechanics are straightforward once you know the timing. Eligible products show a pickup area next to the add to bag button, orders are usually confirmed within the hour and ready within about four hours, and Chico’s holds them for four days from the day the order is processed before canceling and releasing the hold on the card. The card is authorized when you order and charged when you pick the order up, which means an order that goes unclaimed costs nothing.
Pickup has an ID requirement that catches people sending a partner or a friend. A valid government-issued ID and the order number or confirmation email are both needed, and someone else can only pick the order up if you named them as the alternate person when the order was placed. Chico’s also allows a single order to mix pickup and shipping, with items collected from up to four stores but shipped to only one address.
The general price adjustment policy is stricter than the pickup version and worth reading on its own. Chico’s adjusts the price of an item on a one-time basis if it decreases within fourteen days of the original purchase, with the original receipt, in store, for an in-store purchase; the company states that online and catalog purchases are not eligible for adjustment in the stores, and final-sale merchandise is excluded outright. The company’s FAQ describes calling customer service with an invoice number to ask about eligibility, which is the route for anything the counter cannot settle.
Shipping, returns and what the refund keeps
Delivery is sold as a three-speed menu with a cutoff attached. Chico’s lists standard, express and next day options priced separately, with the table headed by orders placed by 10:00am EST Monday through Friday, and it says elsewhere that orders clearing authorization before that hour on a weekday ship the same business day. Express and next day are not offered to PO Boxes, APO and FPO military addresses or to areas its carriers cannot reach, and a next day order placed on a Friday is not a Saturday delivery.
Free shipping here is a membership benefit, not a threshold everyone shares. Chico’s attaches it to VIP members above an order minimum in the continental US, and to cardmembers with no minimum on qualifying online purchases paid with the card, applied automatically once you are signed in. Whatever general shipping promotion is running today sits on its own card at the top of the page with its own conditions.
The return window is generous and the exclusions are specific. Chico’s accepts returns and exchanges within 60 days of the date of purchase, excluding final sale and as-is items, gift cards and gift boxes, with merchandise unworn and unwashed or defective. Returns need the original or gift receipt, or a purchase the company can validate in its system, and returns without a receipt are capped by value inside a rolling window.
How you send it back changes what you get back. Using the prepaid label from the returns portal costs a processing fee deducted from the refund, while handing the item to a Chico’s boutique does not, so the boutique is the cheaper route if there is one on your way. Shipping and handling charges already paid are stated as non-refundable, and Chico’s adds a Quick Exchange service by phone that places the replacement order and waives the standard ground shipping fee on it.
One charge survives every one of these routes, and only in one state. Colorado imposes a retail delivery fee on orders delivered to a Colorado address; Chico’s collects it, states that it is non-refundable and due even if you qualify for free shipping, and says it cannot waive it for any reason. Charges of that kind are set by the state rather than by the retailer, so what lands on your order depends on where it is being delivered and not on any nationwide rule.
Which route fits which order
Seven separate things can lower a Chico’s bill, and they do not all behave like coupons. The table sets out what each one removes, where it is accepted, and whether it can sit in the same order as a brand offer.
| Savings route | What it removes | Where it is accepted | Alongside a brand offer? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Brand coupon or promo code | A percentage or a fixed sum off qualifying merchandise | Chico’s stores including outlets, chicos.com, and by phone | No, one brand offer per order |
| Reward Certificate | A fixed dollar amount the account has already earned | Chico’s, Chico’s Outlet and Chico’s Off The Rack locations, and chicos.com | Yes, with up to five coupons or special offers |
| Club Chico’s points | Nothing today; a certificate once the balance is reached | Qualifying merchandise purchases, counted after discounts | Yes, they are counted separately |
| Founders 5% | 5% of merchandise, taken after other discounts | VIP members and VIP cardmembers | Yes, it is applied on top |
| Cardmember first purchase offer | A percentage off the first purchase made on the card | In store on the day of approval, or online within the code’s life | Yes, and other discounts are applied before it |
| Final-sale markdown | Nothing extra; the cut is already in the ticket | Tickets ending in .98, in store and online | Not applicable, and it cannot be returned or adjusted |

Read across a row before you read down the column. The first two rows are the only ones you actively apply to an order; the rest are settled by where you stand in the program, by which rack the garment came off, or, in the case of a price adjustment, by what the price does after you have already paid.
Questions Chico’s shoppers ask
What can I pay with on chicos.com?
The list Chico’s publishes covers the major credit cards, naming Discover, American Express, Diner’s Club International, JCB, CUP, Visa and Mastercard, alongside PayPal, Chico’s gift cards and Visa or Mastercard check cards. A gift card is redeemed online by entering its number and pin on the payment page at checkout, and Chico’s notes that a card or PayPal account is authorized for the full amount when you order and charged when the order ships.
Can I give my points or a Reward Certificate to someone else?
No, and Chico’s answers that one flatly: memberships, points, Reward Certificates and benefits are personal and non-transferable. The same FAQ rules out taking the money instead, saying rewards are issued as certificates redeemable on merchandise and have to be used through the online account or in store at checkout. A balance sitting in someone else’s account is not a balance you can borrow.
I had points in the old Rewards+ program. Where did they go?
They were turned into certificates rather than carried across as points. Chico’s says previously earned Rewards+ points were converted to Reward Certificates and issued after the transition to Club Chico’s, and that any certificate earned before the change stays valid through its own expiration date. If you shopped there before the switch and have not looked since, the account page is where that balance would have landed.
When does an order actually leave the warehouse?
Orders that clear authorization and are placed Monday through Friday before 10am EST ship the same business day, barring unexpected delays, while orders placed on weekends or holidays are processed on the next business day. Worth knowing before you press the button: Chico’s says it cannot cancel or modify an order once it has been submitted, because of how quickly the distribution center picks it up.
How long does a refund take once the package is back?
Allow up to two weeks from the day you mail the items for the return itself to be processed, after which Chico’s sends a confirmation email, and then a further five to seven business days for the credit to appear. Returning items from more than one order in a single package means starting a separate return for each order and putting every packing slip in the box, or the company adds up to another week to the handling.
Do authorized users on a Chico’s card earn points too?
They do, with one condition. An authorized user who buys at a Chico’s, Chico’s Outlet or Chico’s Off The Rack location or on chicos.com and identifies as a Club Chico’s member earns 7.5 points per dollar into their own account, and no account given at the register means no points earned. Purchases an authorized user makes outside Chico’s on a Chico’s Mastercard are credited to the primary cardmember’s account instead.
I paid with a gift card and a credit card. How does the refund come back?
In pieces, and in a fixed order. The return policy says refunds are made in the original form of payment, and that where more than one form was used the refund goes first to merchandise cards and gift cards, then to credit cards, then to check, then to cash. On a split payment like that one, the gift card balance is rebuilt first and the card statement is the last place the money shows up.
