Rent the Runway Promo Code valid in October 2026

Rent the Runway offers monthly subscriptions, one-time event rentals through RTR Reserve, and pre-loved pieces to buy. A promo code applies to the service and customers named in its offer, so a first-month membership discount and a rental discount serve different purposes.

This guide was last reviewed in fall 2026. The live coupons and prices listed above are updated automatically and take precedence over any example described in this guide.

Fall rentals and shopping

Fall brings wedding-guest looks, workwear and changing-weather outfits into the rental lineup. Reserve is an option for an event on a set date; a subscription gives you a rotating wardrobe, while Buy the Runway and Clearance offer pieces to keep. Rental availability depends on your dates, size and chosen style.

Introductory membership offers may lower the first month's cost for qualifying new subscribers and selected paused or rejoining subscribers. One-time rental offers have their own customer requirements. Pre-loved purchase prices can already be reduced, with return eligibility depending on whether the piece is marked Final Sale.

Using a Rent the Runway promo code at checkout

Enter the offer's code at checkout, then review the order summary before paying. The discount should appear on the eligible charge. The images below illustrate code entry and an applied discount.

A code can be rejected because it has expired, contains a typo, or the order falls below its minimum value. Copying the code as supplied helps avoid typing errors. When a Reserve offer has a minimum rental value, its terms may calculate that value before the discount and taxes. A qualifying minimum applies to the rental covered by that offer.

Customer eligibility can differ, too. Some offers are limited to one use or the intended recipient. For example, the creator membership offer is for qualifying new, rejoining and paused subscribers selected by RTR, and excludes PRO, one-time rentals, existing orders and items for sale. A purchase offer may be limited to selected pieces and exclude membership fees, Reserve rentals, Marketplace purchases or new arrivals.

You can add only one promotion to an order. Gift cards and promo codes can be combined toward the first month of a new subscription. Offer terms may also rule out combining a discount with another offer unless an exception is stated. Member perks, Rewards and account credit have their own conditions; the order summary shows the adjustments applied and the balance due.

If the code still fails after you have matched the order to its conditions and corrected typing errors, contact customer support. A payment problem after a discount is accepted needs separate attention.

Membership and referral savings

Membership plans have different shipment allowances. An introductory discount can lower the first month's fee for qualifying customers; after that promotional month, the plan switches to automatic monthly renewal at the applicable membership price unless you pause or cancel. Your ongoing bill also depends on the plan and extras you choose.

An eligible active subscriber can refer a new subscriber through the referral program. The new subscriber's discount applies to a qualifying first month, while the referring member's reward reduces a future active membership billing cycle. Referral limits and the program's conditions apply.

Early in a new or qualifying reactivated membership, the new-member fit replacement offer provides a one-time free replacement in the next scheduled shipment for an item that does not fit. It includes qualifying rejoining subscribers once a waiting period has elapsed since their previous membership was canceled. RTR selects qualifying rejoining subscribers at its discretion. A paused account, a canceled account and a new account can qualify for different offers.

One-time rentals with RTR Reserve

RTR Reserve lets you rent for a specific date without a monthly subscription. Rentals run for four or eight days, with one free backup size per event rental, not per style, and free rental returns. Outbound delivery is a separate charge.

Availability depends on the style, size and rental dates; your preferred piece may not be available. Active subscribers have a member discount on event rentals through RTR Rewards. An additional promotion's combination rules still apply, as described in Using a Rent the Runway promo code at checkout.

Buying pre-loved pieces and purchase returns

Buy the Runway sells pre-loved clothing and accessories. Pieces listed at a reduced price show a comparison with Original Retail or Comparable Value. Those reference prices describe new goods; they may differ from current market prices. The purchase price shown for the piece is the amount to use when comparing it with a rental.

Clearance purchases and pieces rented before being bought at home are Final Sale and cannot be returned. For eligible purchases, drop off the item at the carrier named on your label or an RTR drop-off location within the return window measured from delivery. Return it in the same condition; a restocking fee plus tax is deducted from the refund. Original shipping fees are not refunded, and exchanges are not accepted.

RTR Rewards and account updates

RTR Rewards has four levels: Insider, Enthusiast, Maven and Icon. Your level depends on your active membership tenure. Subscribers are automatically enrolled in Rewards, with no separate Rewards subscription fee; participation requires a membership and opting in to RTR emails.

Bonus spots are tied to membership milestones. Enthusiast, Maven and Icon members get early access to new arrivals, while early access to promotions is a Maven and Icon benefit. Higher-tier perks can also include limited invitations and offers, with availability and eligibility set for the individual reward.

Updates in the iPhone app

The iPhone app may provide shipping updates, return reminders, order-management features and notices about offers, new arrivals or invitations. The site also offers email updates about new styles and sales. An app notice or email can point you to an offer whose customer and service requirements still apply.
